A Sunday of two finals
the first is from the south and the second from the north. The Englishmen with
the “It’s Coming Home” phrase due to the tournament’s final being held in
London while Azzurris believe it is flying to Rome. The Three Lions have will
have played 6 of their 7 matches at home and have had a breakthrough tournament
through with no plenty of goals compared to other teams. They have been solid
from the back conceding only 1 goal. The full squad is fit for the match and
Kane one goal away from being tied top goal scorer of the tournament. Sterling
has been phenomenal for England banging goals for the team. Italy miss their
left back Spinazzola is out with a raptured Achilles missing the semis and now
the finals but has been instrumental for the Azzurris having two assists and
joined up front in attack on the left flank.
England
England closed the long
55-year old wait for a final which traces back when they won the world cup on
home soil in 1966. Since then, the London men have made to a most recent
semi-finals during the 2018 world cup and have never won the European championship
in their history. A date with history to bring it home. They have a talented
young squad that is deemed to last for at least a decade. England has most of
its players from the English domestic league which embraces homegrown players. It
is through this that they are able to have a cycle of players bringing in young
lads to replace the aging members of the squad. Many of the players have
emerged onto global status and its fast attacking force of Sterling, Kane,
Saka, Grealish, Rashford, Foden and Sancho will prove to be quick to an aging
but experienced Italy defense.
Italy
Italy on the other hand
have been the finalist in the 2012 tournament that saw them hammered 4-0 by
Spain and last won the tournament in 1968. However they have won the world cup
two times since then (1982 and 2006) but never qualified for the 2018
tournament in Russia. The team have seen a resurgence having gone 33 matches
unbeaten tracing their last loss on 10th September 2018 against Portugal
in the Nations league. Roberto Mancini has seen a team rise from the ruins of
not qualifying for the world cup to a highly competitive team entering the EURO
2020 as the Dark Horses but now favorites to win the tournament. The Azzurri
have perfect record against the three lions having beaten in major tournaments
in 2014 and 1990 World cups as well as the 1980 and 2012 EUROs.
Heads up for the Azzurris🇮🇹... It's running away from home
