Well, not a chilly encounter mounted by the blues against Porto.

Chelsea responded to their West Bromwich set back in a convincing win away from home. A goal from Mason Mount and a spectacular solo from Ben Chilwell so the visitors grab two important away goals and put one foot into the semi-finals. Chelsea has seemingly improved over time since Thomas Tuchel took over with his style of play that is favoring the blues. Players gaining confidence with the ball while moving forward and maintaining clean sheets has seen them improve with 13 clean sheets out of the 16 games that Thomas Tuchel has been in charge.

Mason Mount has seemingly been on the rise since Lampard showed faith in him. Having been called up for the England squad since he emerged as a pivot player, Mount has not stopped to impress showing his agility as a player despite facing stiff competition in the England squad. Scored two out of two since returning from the international break, this what his manager had to say about him. “He is a very important player for our squad at a young age. I can only repeat that he has the right mentality and attitude towards training and games. He has the right attitude towards success, he is open and hungry to learn.”

Can Chelsea Repeat their double winning feat again Atletico Madrid at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez against Porto?

With no home games in this tie for each team, Chelsea travel to Estadio Ramon Sanchez in Sevilla to face Porto on 13th April aiming to stamp their place in their second semi-finals since their successful 2011/12 campaign having only come close in the 2013/14 semi-finals against Atletico Madrid. This season’s campaign sees their best run since then and they will be hopeful to culminate it with the title. Thomas Tuchel made it into finals during the previous campaign and will be aiming to repeat it and maybe win the campaign with the Blues to spare him the loss to Bayern Munich.

  1. Mount is going to the top and maybe what helps him is the way he isnt always in the conversation when young players (the likes of Saka, Greenwood, Foden) are being compared...less pressure and expectations on him.

    Mendy was brilliant as well

Chelsea not having their best game on the night but they did what matters most, getting the ball in the opposition's net and keeping it away from theirs

    1. Less pressure on the guy gives him space to perform. The introduction of Kai Havertz also brought him out of the limelight too.
