Norwich Back to the Premier league.

(Cc Wilson Oluoch.)

Saturday the 14th April, the 2021/22 Premier League welcomed their first newly promoted team, Norwich City FC courtesy of the failure of fellow Championship sides Brentford and Swansea dropping points in stalemate matches against Milwall and Wycombe respectfully. They (Norwich) played their home game against Bournemouth having secured promotion and despite the 3-1 loss, the had plenty to celebrate on that night.

One name that most football faithfuls will be looking forward to meeting again with this Norwich side is Finnish striker, Teemu Pukki. On his third stint at the club, he has proven a prolific goalscorer having scored 29 goals in 43 appearance in the 18/19 Championship that helped them earn promotion to the Prem where he managed 11 in 36 but wasn’t enough as the team fell through back to Championship and currently at the time of writing he has 25 in 38 in the Championship (second most goals in the competition behind Brentford’s Ivan Toney) but I’ll shift my focus to another integral piece to Daniel Farke’s team …

Emiliano Buendia

… or just Buendia, also Emi. He wears the shirt number 17 and perhaps Arsenal fans will know much about him due to their links and supposed failed attempts to land the Argentine’s signature at the Emirates. He plays as an attacking midfielder and can be deployed as a right winger.

Currently on his statistically best season yet having scored 13 (12 non-penalty) goals and assisted 14 in 35 appearances, the Argentine has enjoyed his time at the Carrow Road Stadium. No one beats his assist numbers and he is only one of two players with double figures in goals and assists in the Championship. IMPRESSIVE !!!

Of the 13 he’s managed so far, 9 are right-footed and 4 left-footed showing his ability to take chances as they present themselves. He boasts a pass accuracy of 78.58% , making 2.3 tackles, 1.2 interceptions and 6.2 ball recoveries per 90. CRUCIAL !!!!

He is described by his coach as a fantastic player in his work on and off the ball, one of fantastic mentality and a professional who is a great team player and works his socks off for the team.

He might be underrated, but not to Norwich fans and not too long until Prem fans start raving about the 24 year old uncapped Argentine (born 25/12/1996)

Whether we’ll see him repping ‘the Canaries’ badge or he’ll have switched allegiance (Arsenal heavily linked and whispers of Liverpool in pursuit) the Premier League should be ready because he is back, this time …. BETTER !!!
