A perfect scoreline BM:PSG....right?
The generational talent getting finer day
in day out repeating a similar performance as he did against Messi’s Barcelona.
A crucial away win in a repeat of last campaign’s final saw revenge inflicted
on the Bavarians at their backyard. A double from the 22-year old and a strike
from Marquinhos gave the French side three crucial away goals. Neymar was back into
the starting line-up and produced two assists to give Mauricio Pochettino’s men
a boost in the tie. PSG has improved since the Argentine took charge having
seen off Barcelona in a 5-2 aggregate score in the competition and while
getting a crucial result against the current champion, they seem on course to
winning their first ever UCL Title. Having seeing off Manchester United in their
group, Barcelona in the round 16 and Bayern Munich in the first leg; PSG have
indeed proven to be a tough nut to crack in the competition.
A Pochettino Resurgence
has been witnessed and seen the club rise in the ranks. Being clinical in front
of goal saw them win the first semi-final leg tie registering only 6 shots, 4
on target providing them with the 3 goals as compared to the Bayern side who
registered 31 shots and (12) less than half being on target. Their pressing saw
them earn two goals but were not enough to win the tie. Their lack of accuracy
in front goal can be attributed to their lethal Lewandowski’s absence who
missed out the tie with a knee injury from the international break.
Can Bayern Munich
repeat Manchester United’s comeback in the 2018/19 against the French side on
their trip to Parc des Princes or will Pochettino’s men march into their
consecutive semi-final in two successive seasons? With Both Pochettino and PSG
having tasted defeat in the champion’s league final, this campaign provides an
opportunity to heal their wounds and win their first ever UCL title.
Too soon to call PSG being on course for the title. This tie is not yet done in my opinion. I wouldnt write Bayern off just yet. They lost but they scored 2 goals that might as well be important.
ReplyDeleteAnd psg will have to go through a performing mancity team to make the finals
